How to choose the right curtain rod
- How long should a curtain rod be?
Your curtain rod should extend about 15 to 25 cm beyond each side of the window to allow your curtains to fully open. This extra width lets in more natural light while still framing the view for a balanced, polished look. Most of Bouclair’s curtain rods are telescoping, meaning they can be expanded or retracted to fit your window perfectly.
- How high should a curtain rod be hung?
Curtain rods should be placed 10 to 15 cm above the window frame to visually elongate the space and create a more refined look. For a more luxurious effect, position your curtains 5 to 8 cm below the ceiling or just under the crown moulding, ensuring they reach the floor. This simple designer trick makes walls feel taller and the room more polished.
